i've started traveling a lot lately for work. So far, I've had one bottle of face wash confiscated at security and another explode in my bag. I decided to switch to facial wipes. Thought they would be easier to deal with. I used the Neutrogena ones last week, and my face came out feeling like sandpaper. It was just awful. Extremely drying.
Any good suggestions on other ones out there?

Mon, October 29, 2007 - 6:36 PMIf you can find the Basis ones they are the best but otherwise I use the ones from oil of olay. -

I don't like the regular olay ones, the ones with a different texture on each side. But the sensitive skin ones and the Dove ones (if you can find them) are awesome

Re: Best facial wipes
Wed, January 2, 2008 - 6:17 AMi hoarded my stockpile of basis wipes for years, because it started to be a real treasure hunt to find them...and then i found them on drugstore.com
www.drugstore.com/templates...efault.asp
instant burning man memories every time i use one. it's hard to like the environmental impact of individually wrapping each non-reusable towelette though.
for those who don't want to deal with that aspect, you can use cetaphil cleanser (a milky liquid) with or without water. with water, you use it like a normal cleanser. without water, i use it on a dry washcloth or towel and sort of "rub" my face. this is dreadful for removing eye makeup and it's not great for acne-prone (i find that my skin does best with a mild scrubbing in hot water, but that's just me). but it is an option, especially if your skin runs to dry.

Re: Best facial wipes
Fri, November 2, 2007 - 8:22 AMI have combination skin so finding the right face wipe (or any product for that matter) that is good for both areas of my face is a challenge.
I really Like Garnier Nutri-Pure cleansing towelettes
They are oil free, my face feels clean not coated, and they take off makeup in a snap. I don't get the drying that I got with the Neutrogena wipes but I can't touch anything by Dove or Olay because of all the oils in them so I don't know about those ones. -

Re: Best facial wipes
Fri, November 2, 2007 - 11:23 AMA friend turned me onto the Pond's facial wipes to use whie backpacking and camping. I like them just fine, although I haven't used a wide variety of others to which I could compare them... -

Re: Best facial wipes
Mon, November 5, 2007 - 5:23 PMI like the Commodynes from Trader Joe's. They work well, do not irritate my eyes and are inexpensive. I'm not sure of the spelling. Nordstom has then also but for more money.

Re: Best facial wipes
Mon, November 12, 2007 - 9:42 PMThe Ponds one's make my skin feel SO CLEAN! They actually make my skin feel cleaner than when I use my everyday face wash.
I don't even have to use moisturizer afterwards (I have very dry, flaky skin)

Sun, December 30, 2007 - 2:05 PMI really like the Dove; I prefer the Noxema but haven't been able to find them -

Re: Best facial wipes
Sun, December 30, 2007 - 8:40 PMI bought the Dove and have taken them on two trips. Worked like a charm, especially for my dry dry skin.

Re: Best facial wipes
Wed, January 2, 2008 - 8:35 AMI like to formulate my own- you can either use cloth wipes (the flannel hankies from lunapads.com work well) or paper towels if you really need disposables- 1Tbsp sweet almond oil 1Tbs liquid castille soap (I use Dr Bronner's almond 'cause it smells pretty) and 1 cup warm water. shake well & pour over wipes- do not store for more than one week since there is no synthetic preservative. It is not oily at all and leaves skin feeling nice and soft. A friend of mine adds tea tree oil, but that is too irritating to me. you can do the same thing with your favorite toner too. Pack in either a ziplock or a nice little rubbermaid. I also presoak q-tips in sweet almond oil for a take-along eye make-up remover. -

Re: Best facial wipes
Wed, January 2, 2008 - 8:38 AMI LOVE the Pond's "Clean Sweep" towelettes. They come in travel packs of 15, and also bigger packs. They clean my skin very well, leave it feeling moisturized, and are non-irritating to my combination skin that's prone to breakouts.

Re: Best facial wipes
Thu, January 3, 2008 - 4:58 PMI can't find the Dove brand anymore (well not the version that you don't need to add water to anyway), So I tried the Pond's Clean Sweep. Still not as wonderful as the Dove, but I like them, and REALLY like the smaller packs. Amazon.com has a great deal on a super size box of a bunch of travel packs. -

I've only tried the trader joes version, its great for traveling /camping but I would not want to use them on a regular basis as they don't feel like they really cleaned my skin. -

Re: Best facial wipes
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 5:31 PMI usually buy the Ponds ones for camping trips and overnight outdoor parties.
I love them. I would not use them everyday either, but they are fine for a couple days.
I have also used the biore ones as well. I don't like them as much as the Ponds ones, but they do get the job done.
I am thinking of trying the basis ones though. I used to basis face wash and I loved it.
Also if you ever want to read some reviews on anything beauty related try www.makeupalley.com. I go there all the time for reviews. Its kind of addicting!! -
