My face is itching and it's so uncomfortable! It started Tuesday and has continued. There are no bumps, just red. I have gotten some new products, but I'm not even real sure that is what it is. It could be just about anything, even something I have eaten. What can I do? It will be months before my dermatologist can see me.

Re: Help! My face is itching!
Thu, March 20, 2008 - 5:17 PMIn case it's an allergic reaction, can you take Benadryl? If you don't have any medical reasons why you can't, I would take it (just be warned that it can make you very drowsy). Other than that, the only thing I can think of are cool (not ice cold) compresses and maybe some hydrocortisone cream. You may need to see your doc if you can't get to your derm.
Good luck and I hope you're feeling better soon!

Re: Help! My face is itching!
Fri, March 21, 2008 - 8:39 PMI can't get into a dermatologist until late April. The pharmacist said to use hydrocortisone cream so I am using one of those creams. I'm using nothing on my face now, except a mild mild face wash and then the cream. I'm not even using sunscreen. This itching is driving me crazy! -

Re: Help! My face is itching!
Sat, March 22, 2008 - 8:11 AMno, no hives. My face is red and itchy on the lower left cheek toward my neck and on the right side on my right cheek where you would apply blush. This is so odd. I have never had anything like this before. I've had a fungus growing on my body before where the source of it was contaminated deodorant, but this isn't even like the fungus so I know it's not that. I may have to go to my regular dr. I just so don't want to go to him. -

Re: Help! My face is itching!
Mon, April 14, 2008 - 4:09 AMMy face was itching way before I started using castor oil and olive oil. It's actually calmed down some but I'm still going to see the derm to see what's going on because now I have itchy arms as well.
