And now Conair makes something similar, a straightener with a rolling cylinder at the center, although it seems to have small flat plates on either side, so that the rolling part that your hair is in contact with isn't that large. It sells for around $40, and I bought one. It works all right, but not sure if there's much of an improvement from old school flatirons.

For some reason I assumed that the Instyler could be used on damp hair- this one is for dry hair only.

I just gave one of these to my teenaged daughters (14 and 15) as an early xmas present, and they totally went bonkers! D1 had her hair straightened in less than 10 minutes. And as she learns how to use it, she will get much faster. It was way easier for her to do the back areas by herself. Can't wait to see what creativity comes of the new 'toy' (as she is very creative).

Yeah, but $195 for two...???? Even at $90 each, that seems rather steep to me...

Correction on my math -- $135 for two...even still, at almost $70 a piece.....???

I got one on ebay for $55 w/ free shipping. If you are diligent and not in a hurry, you can probably score one for less. Considering that the cost of a decent flat iron is around $50 (and can be A LOT more), I think this is a reasonable price for what is so far a good product.

gah, the sedus and chis run near the $100 range, so i dont think the price is that extravagant for the instyler -- esp. now that i know that it works well

< another in styler owner. i just got mine from ebay last week, works great! I like it better than the flat iron, as it gives my hair more body and shape.

I have had mine for over a year and still can't stop raving about it. Changed my life! When I am feeling not so attractive, I just do my hair with the instyler, it is that magnificent! It is easy to use, really solved my back of hair issues (the straightener just made it look like dead straight hair back there, but InStyler gives it life!), and is soooo fast and perfect every time!

If I could, i would give everyone in the world one of these.

Everyone who wants straight hair, you mean? Some of us enjoy our curls. ;-)

Ok-based on the reviews by you all I went to to see if they had it....I read some reviews there that weren't so good---such as the appliance breaking on the inside or the roller not rolling. Have any of you had these issues? I'd love to try it but at $70+ I am hesitant to spend the money if the product will break in a few months or the roller will quit.

Two years, regular usage (everyday for the first year), no issues. Seemed like it was about to break six months ago (roller getting slower), but it was hair caught. A good cleaning put it back to rights again.

My two teenagers use it constantly... still holding up like a champ, working as perfectly as the day they tore open the box... :)

Is this it? I'm thinking of getting one but there are a bunch of different products on ebay called "InStyler". Thanks.

I bought one, and generally like it, and think that for thicker hair than mine, it would be totally awesome. I've realized that I don't need it because my hair is thin, fine, and although it does give it tons of volume, I don't need the straightening (it's overkill on my hair). I can get that with a hair curling thingamajig if I need to. I just don't use it enough to warrant the price I paid, etc.
If anyone is interested in one that is very SLIGHTLY used, but definitely the real thing, message me. We can work a fair price out.
