how my skin finally got pretty

i'm 24, since i was 11 i have had acne and tons of blackheads. blackheads on my nose, my chin, some on my cheeks.. terrible.
i've tried proactive but it made my skin crack. i tried nuetrogena but it didnt do it either. i ued just cetaphil and rose water and it helped but i was still getting pimples and having alot of dry and oily spots everywhere.

then a friend suggested something she came across by accident. we're both lush fans, and i had tried their "dark angels" face cleanser, which was helping somewhat with my skin but it left it a bit dry and red.. she was trying "ocean salt" (another cleanser) and loved it.. and her fiance decided to get creative. he mixed ocean salt and dark angels together. it cleared up all his acne on his face, and all his "bacne"... so i gave it a try

what i am doing is preparing the dark angels as directed.. break off a small chunk, add water and mix into a paste.. then i add a finger full of ocean salt and mix them, then massage into dampened skin for 30 seconds to a minute, focusing on the parts with dryness, blackheads, pimples, etc (my whole stupid face). then i wipe it off with a warm, wet washcloth.. it leaves a residue with i wash off using a DIFFERENT facecloth and cetaphil. it removes the stuff you dont want, but leaves all the good stuff. after that i spritz my face with rose water and i'm all done. this is a nightly thing i do before bed, and in the morning i just do a water rinse and another spritz of rose water.

my skin has been nearly perfect for 2 straight weeks on this regime. i still wear concealer because i have some dark spots on my face from old breakouts, but once those clear up i may not have to wear any makeup at all. my pores are seeming to shrink (they appear to, anyway), my skin texture is evening out (it's all baby smooth now), and i havnt had a single zit.
i've never gone more than a few days without some sot of nastiness showing up.

this is downright amazing and i wanted to post it here so hopefully other people can benefit from it.

i have combination, sensitive skin. blackheads, pimples, large pores on my cheeks and nose... this might be too scrubby for people with delicate skin, so ask for little samples at the store before you commit to a whole jar of each product.

    Hi Cassandra : )
This is great news! I recall your battle from a couple of years ago, and I've often wondered how you were doing. Really nice to see you here, and to hear that you've found something that seems to be working for you! Yay!!

    Cheers and Aloha!

i'm relieved more than anything.. i cannot tell you guys how hard it is for me to find makeup that matches my skin close enough that i dont look silly... right now i look so much better without makeup on (with my few dark spots) than i ever have with it...
since i'm not much for putting on full face coverage ever (it makes me feel slimey for some reason) this is a huge thing for me. and of course.. not wearing makeup is helping to clear up my skin, too.

a few days ago i did some regular maintenance to check for blackheads and clogged pores and i notice that unlike every other time.. instead of them all being like.. waxy little plugs, they were not so hard or dark.. i think the ocean salt is disolving them! which is cool cause then they dont stretch out my pores.. plus the amount that i had to deal with was only about 15% of what i normally find.
