A quick fix it tip for a pimple

Toothpaste on it the night before an event. Wear the toothpaste all night. It has to be white.
It will make it shrink. Do it for a few days and it goes away in most cases.

Anyone else have quick fix it tips?

I've heard that calamine lotion will also do teh trick, but I haven't had a chance to try it.

I've found Burt's Bees Res-Q Remedy helps bring acne to a head and then heal it up really quick.

Natural white cosmetic clay (or I think there is a kind called Aztec clay too) is super good for pulling the gunk out of your pores, and apple cider vinegar also does a good job of cleaning out pores, blackheads and bringing acne to a head without squeezing or popping.

      Calamine lotion is a lie.
At least it didn't work for me.

I felt like my zits stayed just as big, and just as red.
But perhaps this is because they were those deep hormonal ones.

Also, crush up and dissolve an aspirin in a tablespoon of alcohol and dab it on the zit. It will dry it up and reduce any redness from picking at it (we all do it!). It should be gone in a couple nights. If you look at a lot of topical zit treatments, you'll find the main ingredients to be isopropyl alcohol and salicylic acid (the main ingredient in aspirin). Pretty cool, huh?

Thanks for this. A word of warning, though - be careful to get it ONLY on the zit. After first hearing about this, I went a bit over-enthusiastic in terms of area and frequency of application. It made this strange hard patch that couldn't be concealed (the texture was wrong and did odd things to the concealer) and lasted for much longer than the zit itself normally would. Sad to say, I actually did this on several occasions before I finally got the amount and frequency (very small, and only once, for me) right.

You have to be very careful. This sort of application will create a huge patch of dead skin and the cells beneath your outer layer will also absorb the mixture, causing more dead skin. Because you're using salic acid, it will absorb deep and the alcohol will rupture your skincells along with the garbage causing the zit.

It'll take a while for the skin to renew itself and it'll leave a scalely, flaky patch while it's healing.

If you're going to apply this mixture, remember, cotton swabs are your friends. Very small amounts, only on infected and inflamed areas (noticable pimples)

Applying ice on a pimple can work wonders especially if you do it when you first feel it. You can take a dixie cup or a styrofoam cup and fill it with water, freeze it and use it a couple of times a day to ice those rascals.

I own an Acne Clinic in San Leandro, CA so if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me.

You can also go to my new tribe called "No More Acne" which has a lot of great information.

The blue Drawing Paste is what I use. It's applied overnight (or anytime you'll be at home for a while) and it draws all of the junk out from under your skin so it can be rid of.

I heard Neospornin does the trick, for a quick fix..... However, it will return a day or two later!!!

I guess you could only use this if you have a wedding or something major going on... just to get rid of it for your special event!!

a tiny dab of retinol, or a product with retinol in it will dry it up overnite, and the zit will fall off in 24 hrs. i was using some old vichy eye cream with retinol i had stopped using for the eye area.
also, lavender oil, a small undiluted drop onto a cotton swab and then the zit. lavender brings the redness down and i use it on my parnter's and daughter's skin with good results too. it's an antibacterial/antifungal.

another thing i've discovered to work really well is clear away liquid for warts. it's 17% salicylic acid and burns and crusts the zit or boil on sight. i'd be super careful with it tho and use a bandaid over it.

I've been reading alot about the aspirin - alcohol mixtures, any way to get an idea of the relative salicylic acid concentration so we can adjust for zits, ingrown hairs, exfoliation?

Alcohol is not so great for skin. I like to make this awesome mask: Get a bowl and put in 1 Tbsp plain organic yogurt (lactic acid) and 8-10 uncoated plain aspirin (salicylic acid). Stir it up and let it sit for a minute; the aspirin will dissolve. Add a Tbsp of honey (antimicrobial, antifungal, & moisturizing) and stir the mixture up. I use it in the shower. I put the mask on my face and neck and let it work while I exfoliate my body with scrubby gloves. Then rinse and go. Stuff is amazing, completely healthy, and dirt cheap.
